The story of four young men from the wrong side of the tracks in New Jersey who came together to form the iconic 1960s rock group The Four Seasons.

Little was known to the public about the group's history prior to the premiere of the musical, because the magazines of the era didn't write about them much.In their research, Brickman and Elice were surprised to find that the members had prison records, which might have prevented their music from being played if it had been publicized when they were active.According to Gaudio, "Back then, things were a little clean-cut, don't forget, so the idea of our story getting out was horrifying to us.Other bands of the time projected street-tough images, but The Four Seasons cleaned themselves up in order to be palatable for mainstream listeners.

Brickman and Elice also used material from interviews with surviving Four Seasons members Gaudio, Frankie Valli and Tommy DeVito. Brickman noted that each member had his own perspective on what happened during their tenure as a group. Of the three, they approached DeVito last, who told them, "Don't listen to those guys. I'll tell you what really happened." Elice said that getting DeVito's version was a "eureka moment" and the contradiction in their stories ended up being incorporated in the musical for a Rashomon effect.The writers were also contacted by family members of the late mob boss Gyp DeCarlo to ensure that he would be portrayed respectfully.

A Dutch production, produced by Stage Entertainment, opened at the Beatrix Theatre in Utrecht on September 22, 2013. This production features the songs performed in English and the dialogue performed in Dutch, making it the first time the show has been performed in a language other than English. The cast includes Tim Driesen as Frankie Valli, René van Kooten as Tommy DeVito, Dieter Spileers as Bob Gaudio and Robbert van den Bergh as Nick Massi.

The "Jersey Boys" musical was a massive success, telling the story of original pop singer Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons.  After touring cities for what seems like forever, the show is moving from the stage to the screen helmed by Hollywood genius, Clint Eastwood.

The boys sit down with Natasha Gargiulo and open up about what it feels like being handpicked by Eastwood himself!

"I was sitting in Toronto on Sugar Beach and I jumped out of my chair and ran to the edge of the water like I was going to dive into the Toronto Harbour," Michael Lomenda jokes.  Adding, "it was a physical visceral reaction."

While co-star John Young-Lloyd, who plays Valli in the film says, "The act of choosing you to play a leading role in his new film, he thrusts such a responsibility on you to rise to the occasion."  With co-star Vincent Piazza agreeing, saying "You know it feels like a life-changing opportunity."

Spanning about 40 years, Jersey Boys charts the history of The Four Seasons, a 1960s New Jersey quartet that found fame as a squeaky-clean pop vocal group highlighted by the angelic pipes of their frontman, Frankie Valli (John Lloyd Young, who won a Tony for the role). But their offstage lives weren’t nearly so innocent. Valli was on the road so much that it created friction between him and his wife and children, exacerbated by his infidelity. As for Valli’s childhood friend and bandmate Tommy DeVito (Vincent Piazza), the hothead’s criminal past and connections to the mob eventually jeopardise the group’s financial future, threatening the legacy they’ve created after amassing a string of carefree hit singles such as Sherry and Big Girls Don’t Cry.
